PlySpace is an artist-in-residence program based in the Emily Kimbrough Historic District in downtown Muncie, Indiana and produced by Muncie Arts and Culture Council. PlySpace is pleased to announce the application for the Fall 2019 Residency Term is now open with a submission deadline of March 1, 2019.

Muncie Arts and Culture Council invites applications for PlySpace from emerging and established practitioners and small collaboratives working in areas including but not limited to painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, glass, metals, ceramics, performance, photography, video/film, time-based media, writing, poetry, theatre, non-object based practice, and social practice. Two Resident Fellows and one PlySpace Resident will be selected for the Fall term with flexible residency dates between mid-September and mid-November 2019. All residents will receive lodging, studio space, and a stipend. Residents selected to participate as a PlySpace Resident Fellow will work with the School of Art at Ball State University and receive additional funding for project and living expenses.

In addition to providing residents with dedicated time and space to investigate and pursue their own practice, PlySpace serves as a platform to connect visiting residents with local organizations in order to facilitate collaborative projects that benefit the citizens of Muncie as well as the program residents. Applicants are asked to propose a personal project as the primary focus of their residency as well as a community project to be completed in partnership with a community collaborator. PlySpace will assist each resident in refining their proposed collaboration and connect them with an appropriate community organization.

PlySpace is a program of Muncie Arts and Culture Council in partnership with the City of Muncie, Ball State University School of Art, and Sustainable Muncie Corporation. PlySpace is generously supported by the National Endowment for the Arts.
