TIME MACHINE: PERCEPTION, MEMORY AND TRANSITS BETWEEN PAST AND FUTURE

Philosophers and anthropologists have always questioned the importance and randomness of the perception of the passage of time: a flow that builds the sense of collective and individual experience, while physicists disagree, for whom, with the advent of physics quantum, the passage of time has an illusory character. TIME MACHINE is a journey into the “Time of the mind”, in that infinite and visionary space where each of us travels between past and future and experiences time as a flow, as something concrete to be preserved or reconquered in the nostalgic recerche du temps perdu (search for lost temps).

Time is the master of our lives, of everything we do, learn or plan. Time is trace, perception, memory, transitory nature, mental or urban landscape, cycle of life and death. Time can be absence, presence, movement, projection. The exhibition revolves around the human  condition and explores the concept of time as a metaphor for our emotions, as abstraction or figuration, capable of triggering memories, vulnerability and fueling the subconscious.

Welcome at the exhibition TIME MACHINE! The show will be set-up in the Renaissance venue of the PALMIERI FOUNDATION in the old city of Lecce from  18 to 31 MAY 2024. Organized by Primo Piano Special Projects, it is curated in the critical texts in the catalog by Dores Sacquegna.
