Gonooza is an audio tours app featuring non-traditional tour guides: artists, writers, musicians and scholars. The app allows its users to experience London’s physicality in radically new ways - historically, culturally, aesthetically, ontologically.

Rather than as audio tours, we encourage our contributors to think of the medium as “place-specific communication”. Gonooza contributors are free to interpret, reimagine, describe, riff off, criticise or eulogise places and objects in London in any way they wish.

We invite proposals from artists, writers & scholars for whom 'place' is important, or who could use the format of place-specific voice recordings to create experiences for our users.

If they wish, contributors may charge users for their 'tour', thereby earning income.

Hello, Hope you are doing well. My name is Dr Maiada aboud; I have recently finished my doctorate in the field of gender studies and performance art( Middle Eastern case study). I was wondering if you could consider my proposal for future exhibitions. The topics I have researched are related to my autobiography as a Palestinian (female Arab Israeli) artist based in London. Its reflecting on my personal memory and the use of performance art as a method for healing and therapy. The aspects I reflect upon are related to taboos around pain, trauma and personal memory and its depiction throughout live acts in the gallery space. Nevertheless, my work deals with the personal as political, gender Middle Eastern issues, pain and the body as a bridge for communication. Let me know if you require any further details.
