OPEN CALL FOR ART: REGIONAL JURIED EXHIBITION

In conjunction with our third annual Summer Arts Festival,

Contracommon announces a regional call for artists working in any media within a 100 mile radius of our space for a juried group exhibition to coincide with the festival this year.

Contracommon fulfills an important need in the Central Texas region: increasing accessible opportunities to artists who do not have access to the galleries, experimental spaces or resources elsewhere. We are pleased to provide this opportunity for artists in Central Texas, given the lack of contemporary art surveys specific to this region. Community is one of the central principles of Contracommon, and we are proud to offer the chance to connect artists participating in the show, members of our studios, and our growing audience. 

The exhibition will run from May 29 to July 10th, 2023, with the Summer Arts Festival serving as an opening.

A panel of jurors (including Sarah Fox, Kevin Ivester, Gabi Magaly, and Ryan Runcie) local to the Central Texas arts community will select 10-15 artists to be included in the survey. Contracommon will support each artist selected to participate with a stipend to help cover shipping or travel costs.
