Fogliano Room:

Sermoneta Room:

Bassiano Suite: 

available immediately.

Accomodations:

We have four artist-in-residence options, housed on the second floor of our historic heritage house in Vernon, BC, Canada. 3 rooms, the Sermoneta, the Caetani and the Fogliano share an entryway, library, bathroom, kitchen and living room. 
The 4th option, the Bassiano Suite, is a self-contained 1.5 bedroom suite, with a large bedroom, a writing nook that can be converted into a second bedroom, a kitchen, living room, bathroom, separate entryway and small outdoor deck. The Bassiano Suite is perfect for artists who want to travel with children/support/family and/or require privacy.
There is also a private studio available for rent on the Caetani property, nestled in the backyard and surrounded by other working artists’ art studios.

Description of our self-directed residency program
Our Self-Directed Artist in Residency program provides artists (visual artists, writers, creatives and researchers) the ability to work in a supportive community environment of like-minded individuals, to share their expertise and vision, to inspire excellence and create work at the highest level in a nurturing and creative environment. 
The artist is provided with accommodations (at a small fee) at the Caetani Centre. A detached studio in the backyard is available at the added fee of $5/night and suitable for visual artists. 
For artists that are printmakers, ceramics artists and fibre artists, we can facilitate introductions and use of the Vernon Community Art Centre’s shared studio space. Please note this requires some coordinating, so if this is of interest, please get in touch with the Caetani AiR Coordinator before applying to ensure we can accommodate you.
This residency is a multi-faceted experience that will include opportunities for teaching, community outreach, interaction with other artists, and studio care, and, for longer stays, can culminate in a solo exhibition of new work.

Duration of residency
Because this is a self-directed residency, you can choose the length of stay – our minimum stay is 2 weeks and our maximum is 3 months.

Disciplines, work equipment and assistance
This residency program is open to emerging and established writers, visual artists and any other kind of artist and creative we are able to accommodate. If you’re not sure, please get in touch before applying. Printmakers, ceramics artists and fiber artists are welcome to apply, and depending on the scope of the project and technical requirements, can be accommodated in the shared studio space at the Vernon Community Art Centre.
