Account Director : Arts PR : £Neg.+ excellent bonus 

  • Create PR and brand strategy for global arts galleries, artists, arts & heritage institutions. 

Our client is a word leading PR agency for arts market.

As Account Director you will work with UK and global clients to create PR and brand strategy for commercial art galleries, art fairs, art prizes & awards, cultural events, biennales, heritage institutions, museums, festivals, cultural zones, and individual artists. You will ensure your clients get top measurable results - from creating a VIP programme to planning a media relations campaign to a brand audit to a digital communications strategy.

Core functions of an Account Director : 

  • Lead Client Accounts 
    • Lead on client meetings 
    • Demonstrate to clients coverage achieved / anticipated 
    • Formulate campaign, copy, and brand strategy.
    • Monitor client service to ensure high level service is maintained 
    • Liaise with Account Managers for status and other reports 
    • Maintain awareness of media landscape relevant to client accounts
  • Manage a team.
    • Ensure your Account Managers & Account Executives receive training & mentoring 
    • Motivate your direct reports by being a respected leader in the agency 
    • Brief your team on strategy 
    • Monitor the team’s work to make certain work is in line with strategy, timeline, and budget 
  • New Business : 
    • Create new business proposals 
    • Initiate business development ideas for the agency
    • Proactively seek new business -  you benefit from an excellent bonus for new business wins.
  • Media Relations : 
    • Provide clients with media training 
    • Write press releases and other materials 
    • Respond to press requests 
    • Meet with top tier Arts & Cultural Editors & Journalists 
    • Pitch following send-outs 

Key Candidate Criteria : 

  • Experience at SAM or AD level in an agency environment.
  • Experience of formulating and analysing media, brand. and digital strategies 
  • Demonstrate track record of securing press coverage for top level arts clients.

You will report to the senior agency leaders.

We are looking for qualified applicants for full-time engagement to join our Berlin office. The successful candidate will manage communication, research, multimedia design and direct the communications team.


  • Conceive and execute both internal and external communication strategies
  • Coordinate all stages of projects: planning, team management, organization, optimization, production, documentation, reporting
  • Produce project briefs and manage correspondence in German and English
  • Build relationships with institutions, media, writers and editors in Germany
  • Assist in formulating media & guest lists using spreadsheets and databases
  • Strategize and implement social media campaigns
  • Develop periodic newsletters and updates
  • Continually build stakeholder and lead database
  • Master a keen understanding of digital storytelling
  • Work closely with the business development team


  • Graduate of an accredited university program, preferably in journalism, architecture, urban studies, sociology, art history, or a related field
  • Native German
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Published writer or with editorial experience
  • 2-4 years experience managing teams, as well as communication and PR campaigns
  • Expert in all MS Office applications (Adobe Creative Suite is a plus)
  • Knowledge of CRM systems, productivity software and social media tools
  • Reliable, resourceful and enthusiastic about issues pertaining to the built environment
  • With a valid German work permit


    + Available on freelance-basis
