Non Conflictive Art

Humanity has always been plagued by conflict. Individual conflicts, family, social, political, territorial and increasingly global, Conflict pervades all aspects of the human experience.

Civilizations have developed to reach great technological and cultural advancements, yet rarely have managed to avoid or overcome conflict for long.

As part of a collective art exhibition to be held in Edinburgh next spring (April/May 2023) the opportunity is arising for artists to submit works that attempt to represent the challenges of conflict resolution using non conflictive languages. This challenge applies to regional situations such as Israel/Palestine, India/Pakistan, EU/UK, Turkey, Africa, America and worldwide but are comparable to conflicts at large, including in the personal and emotional spheres.

Can art be used to  support conflict resolution, individually and collectively?

Can creativity and artistic exploration contribute to build bridges?

What language, metaphors, messages and concepts can be used, in what way to allow art to evolve human consciousness toward more harmonious existence for human beings on this planet?

The call solicits the submission of works of art, in all forms and all media, for an exhibition to be held in Edinburgh in the spring.

Hanging fee of 100 GBP for accepted entries, with the option to contribute in kind for accepted artists who cannot pay the hanging fee.
