Call for all disciplines, 2025

RaumArs A-i-R is one of the oldest residencies in Finland and artists from different fields carry out community and participatory art projects, workshops, events and performances. RaumArs cooperates extensively with local schools, museums, art institutions, art schools, music colleges, dance schools, various associations and festivals, as well as municipalities throughout the Satakunta region.

RaumArs activities will expand as the association will be moving to a new place from the beginning of 2025. The City of Rauma is renovating on old wooden house, which dates to 1925, for the residency artists and exhibitions. The Art House is located next to the city library and in the immediate vicinity of the theatre and the new school, cultural and sports centre. The property has a large garden that artists can use.

There will be two bedrooms (one for a couple or a working couple and the other for one artist) with private bathrooms, a small work space (not for painting) and a shared kitchen. The rest of the house will have an office and three rooms for exhibitions, workshops or meetings. As the house is undergoing a major renovation (including water, electricity and heating), we unfortunately do not have photos from inside yet.

The residency is free for artists working with a community and for community project there is a small fee for the materials. Indedenpently working artist pay a small rent 350-1500€ depending on the length of a stay and an amound of a room/rooms. All artist pay a registration fee of 150€, which quarantees a place and a refundable deposit 120€.
